NEWS Reports:
Welcome to our Club! C'mon members, let's keep the momentum going, BRING A GUEST!!
Welcome to our Club! THANKS go out to the sponsors for bringing them to Kiwanis!
DISTRICT GOVERNOR'S VISIT: Newly elected District Governor Gail Pachucki will be visiting our area on November 10th. The Governor's Banquet will be held at the Cotton Exchange located in Waterford with cocktails beginning at 5:45pm and dinner at 6:45pm. Cost to attend is $20 per person. If you would like to attend (encouraged!) please contact our very own Lt. Governor, Robert Spake.
THE ROTARY SAGA CONTINUES... Thanks to DJ Richardson, Sheila Reiff, Robert Spake, Al Zimmerman and Hank Mol for enduring the debt payoff at the Rotary meeting October 29th. Rumor has it the Rotarians are planning to change the rules AGAIN for the putt-off next year. We'll have to see what they dream up. Special thanks to Hank for providing the program for the Rotarians that day. His program??… "All About Kiwanis"!! WAY TO GO HANK!!
CHRISTMAS PARADE: Plan now to participate in the annual Elkhorn Christmas Parade! The parade will be held on Saturday December 6th with parade line-up at the fairgrounds. We will once again walk the parade route handing out Kiwanis Peanuts to the kids. For those who do not wish to hike the route, we hope to have a truck to decorate, promoting Kiwanis and carry the extra boxes to peanuts. You're welcome to ride along!
CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS / DINNER: Ornaments have been ordered and should arrive any day. Watch for more information on availability. If you can help deliver them to the stores, please let Cathy Pomaranski know.
It's not to late to be thinking about our annual Christmas Dinner as well. As you know, our Club sponsors a Christmas gathering on Christmas Day for anyone who would like to attend. Transportation is provided for those unable to drive. If you are able to assist, contact Hank Mol.
COMMITTEES AND INTERCLUBS: If you have not signed up for a committee, please contact President Jill Rosenthal and make your preference known. Anyone not indicating a choice will be assigned a committee. Who knows… you just might be assigned NEWSLETTER EDITOR!!
The interclub list is being developed as well. If you have a preference which interclub you would like to attend, please inform President Jill. Interclubs require FOUR members to attend another club's meeting for our club to receive credit for participation. Interclubs start in January and we generally visit one club per month.
THANKS go out to Stephanie Angst who has "agreed" to publish our newsletter! Special THANKS to Jay Karow for putting pen to paper for the past few years as well. Unfortunately, Jay had to resign from the Club due to time constraints.
Interclubs are scheduled. Coordinate with your team captain for the date, time and location. If you don't know what interclub team you're on, contact Pres. Al Zimmerman.
Meals-on-Wheels schedules were also handed out. If you didn't get a copy or are unsure when you are scheduled, contact Mike Cotter or check the ACTIVITY webpage.
Special THANKS go out to all who assisted with the annual Christmas Day Dinner. It was a great success again this year serving over 50 guests, thanks to Hank Mol and EVERYONE who volunteered. Our special gratitude is extended to our area merchants for providing the needed support! THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!
WELCOME TO KIWANIS goes out to Marsha Stritesky from F&M Bank who was inducted into our Club today! Marsha, glad to have you with us!!
NOTE! In case you went to our "old" meeting facility by the library, we weren't there... During construction of the library addition and new community center, our "new" meeting location is:
